Genna & Friends

We have started working on batting things while doing 'tummy time' which she Loves!

I have been trying so hard to capture her squeal talking on camera - but every time I get the camera out she stops talking!

Week 16

Dear Genevieve,
This week you turned 16 weeks old!

You have definitely started getting stronger - you hold your head and your legs up now when I try to take a picture of you on this pillow - doesn't make for an easy photo session!

You also are continuing to love sucking on your hands. You even slept one night last night without being swaddled (hooray! - that's what we're working towards). Most mornings you like me to unwrap you so you can stick your thumb in your mouth and comfort yourself for awhile. I was anxious to stop swaddling you weeks ago, but you just weren't ready. Now you are just showing me that you will do it at your own pace - I think that's great :)

You also have learned to yell when you want something like - PICK ME UP!

Your new favorite thing though is for me to hold you up 'standing.' You actually have quite a bit of strength in your legs and you smile and giggle because you enjoy it so much!

Your squeal talking is so cute - it really is like you are 'talking' to us. Thankfully you are over jet lag now though and aren't talking at 2am anymore for hours!

I do love this outfit on you - it says 'Nuts about you' - too cute

Overall we have had a great week. You adjusted from jet lag in just a few days, although you did end up catching Daddy's cold and then passing it on to me as well! Thankfully it's passing quickly this time though. And you just couldn't be a happier girl - even with a cold you are smiley and happy.

Back in Oz

We took over my parent's living room to pack!

5 suitcases totaling almost 250 pounds in weight and we were ready to go!

We again had a good flight. Miss Genna was very good, we actually got the seats we wanted for the long haul flight by swapping with people (and didn't even ask for the bassinet to be put up this time). She slept a lot, and we were very happy she kept her new high pitched 'talking' squealing until the last hour of the flight :)

Never mind the mess - but Murray took this picture because he thought it was funny how she was resting her arm on mine at the laptop :)

At the nail salon - I was in desperate need of a pedicure and Miss Genna decided she was only happy sitting on my lap! I must say feeding her on a chair at the nail salon was a first! Oh well - what can you do?

She does LOVE her Sophie teether toy - nevermind the super wet bib....

Some chai for me too PLEASE!!

Just in the last week or so she has started grabbing at my drinks. They say this is one of the signs they are 'ready' for food, but we'll wait until Christmas time to start solids. I think she's just becoming more aware of what's going on around her.

She does LOVE relaxing on my lap where she can see everything that's going on!

Bath Time in MN

We had fun with bath time in Minnesota too - Genna loves to taste everything - even the towels!

Our bath time routine to signal night time meant from the first evening in MN Genna went straight to bed after her bath for 5 hours! Fab!

She loved this bath - just like the one at home - lots of room to kick! (that's a pirate ducky she is trying to eat). We found out on this trip that she's no longer happy just to watch and listen to Mommy sing - she now needs toys to play with in the bath to make her happy!
