Week 42

Dear Genevieve,
This week your turned 42 weeks old!

We went to Granddad and Nanna's house - and Daddy popped out to the shop to get you a walker because we just felt like you were ready to move!

It's very girly & pink!

You were FASCINATED!!!

We started off with me helping you to slow the walker down - the wheels just moved so much faster than you could keep up

We tried it outside too

Then Daddy had the smart idea to slow the wheels down by wedging pieces of paper in the joints - then it was PERFECT!!!

Your friend Chloe came to visit one afternoon - you guys had great fun!

Chloe checked for the bargains and Genna read the instruction manual

Then Genna spotted the camera - GIMMMEEEEE! I NEED to chew it !!! She refuses to stay still for photos or videos now - she just wants to chew on the camera *sigh*

Genna got VERY jealous when her Aunty held her friend as well.....

Genna's first Easter!

I'm starting to let you try to 'feed yourself' when you grab for the spoon - it's usually a disaster zone when you're finished - but you are totally getting the idea and starting to bring the spoon, with food on it, to your mouth yourself

You do love to help me with the dishes :)

Week 41

Dear Genevieve,

This week you turned 41 weeks old!

Getting a photo of you laying on k-bear just isn't happening anymore -
even with a rice cracker bribe!

So I think we'll start taking standing photos instead

This week we went to a 'kinder animal farm' at a local mall to check out the animals - you liked the piggies!

The lambs and goats were cute too - one goat tried to nibble your fingers!

Daddy put in some baby proofing measures this week too - you are still fascinated with the gate that blocks the entrance to the kitchen. It's just for when I'm cooking - just in case!

You especially loved the box though

We did a bit of grocery shopping on Saturday evening - exciting stuff!

Then when we got home I let you have a bit of airing out time (nappy/diaper free)

You went absolutely crazy - squealing and crawling around like a crazy lady and piddling all over the place like a little puppy!

We also went to Wagamamas at King Street Wharf for lunch

I LOVE the free kids meals they do - so nice! You liked the chicken, the rice noodles, the carrots and the pieces of spinach!

Then we went to the Sydney Aquarium

You loved watching the fish

and the penguins!

The Dugongs were really cool (also known as a Manatee)

You were soaking it ALL in - so much to look at

Well, just for a second until it's climbing time

You also have really become adamant about what you do and don't want this week. When you see the remote, and I quickly hide it behind a pillow, you still reach for it and start yelling because you still want it! You also now throw any food you don't want on the floor and push away your drink or food if you don't want it!

We tried a few new foods this week - one of which was sardines. I mashed it up really fine and put it in some veggies with cheese and you loved it! OMG it smelled terrible though - I am NOT a fan - but it's good brain food so it's good for you.

This week you had a Huge milestone - Thursday night while I was getting your bath ready I handed you an empty bath soap bottle that you love and I noticed you were standing chewing on it without holding onto anything!!! Since then you have let go and balanced on your own quite a few times - so exciting!

Week 40

Dear Genevieve,
This week you turned 40 weeks old!

You are still really enjoying standing and walking around your stroller when we are out

This has been a tough week for you, you got your first virus and another cold, which has meant a lot of days at home recovering.

But luckily before you got sick we had some gorgeous days outside for you to play!

Cuddles

You have started 'sharing' your food this week - giving me a taste, laughing and then taking a bite yourself - so cute

A few new game we started recently - 'flying' on my legs - you LOVE it!

You have really memorized our apartment now and you know how to get around all the furniture to get where you want to go!

The only way I can get you to lay down on k-bear now
is to give you a rice cracker to distract you - whatever works!

You also had some friends over to play this week - you and Chloe had fun playing piano!

We are practicing walking a lot lately - when I hold your hand you just start moving your feet!

Our new fun game - you chase me around the house!

And more crawling....

You LOVE to stand at the outside of your jumper and play with the toys too - super fun - and good standing practice!

You love to shake these blocks lately - a fun game!

Even though it was a tough week with your sickness, I did enjoy all the calm cuddles on the sofa with you and a few relaxing days inside. The night you had a high fever and only wanted to sleep in my arms I couldn't be upset - it was lovely that you just wanted to be with me, worth not sleeping for a night to give you some loving cuddles :)

Also one new thing you figured out this week was how to open the covers on creams/bottles/etc. This has led to a lot of trouble making - I have found you a few times with the nappy (diaper cream) tube with the cover off and cream all over your hands. Thus we have had to move everything out of reach now!!
