Thursday Random

We went to see Iron Man 2 last night with Helen at the IMax. It was good - but gosh does Garry Chandling's face look scary these days!! I also REALLY enjoyed having a Starbucks chai latte during the show (I think Sparky did too:) Yummm. It is also chilly enough here now to really enjoy a hot drink (15c, 60f) which is nice! I'm happy tomorrow is Friday - can't wait for our first childbirth class at the hospital on Saturday - then I have a pregnancy massage booked on Sunday which was a gift from Cassie - I CANNOT wait!!

Yesterday was a good day too. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, my favorite Mexcian place in the city had half price burritos. I had brought in my own lunch.... but who can say no to a half price pulled pork burrito? And it was GOOD!!

* I stayed up WAY too late last night watching the finale of a trashy American reality show called 'True Beauty' - the contestants think they are there to be voted 'Most beautiful person in America' but actually they are also judging them on their 'inner beauty.' It's quite entertaining I must say. We espeically like when they set them secret challenges, like having an actor fall in front of them to see if they help or just walk away. Most walk away, but the girl who won last night helped the person out in EVERY secret challenge. It's not a great show, but entertaining when there's nothing else on:)

* Very anxious for season 6 of 24 to arrive - should be here any day now - WHOOO HOOO. I realised watching tv this week that I had no idea what was on when and that new shows had started that I didn't even know about, because for the past few weeks we were 24 addicts, watching a few episodes every night, and nothing else. Oh well - it's a great addiction - I love that show! It's great that at least ONE thing is cheaper in Australia than in America - dvd box sets - fabulous!

* Oh and is it sad this whole post is about TV? Ha ha - oh well. I also started watching Gossip Girl. They showed the first ever episode here last week, and episode 2 was on last night. I'm liking it so far, nice to have something new & fresh to watch!

My work mate Ken went to Japan on holiday & brought us back green tea KitKats! Bizarre looking but yummy - they really just tasted like white chocolate:)
He also gave me some sachets with green tea powder - you just mix it with hot water & it makes a lovely tea! Interesting!

Loved this note I found when I got home tonight - ha ha! This avocado is just about off - must eat it tonight!

Random mid week post

1. When I left this morning I noticed the pool near us (which has closed for winter) had a bunch of ducks swimming around in it. I THINK they drained it recently, in prep for next season. I have the feeling ducks does not equal nice clean pool - ewwww.

2. It is meant to be 23c (76f) today. It is the middle of winter here. Hmmmmm I can't complain. Althought the weather guy on the radio said it'll cool back down to the average winter temp - about 15c (60f) tomorrow. Eh - I can live with that. But I'm still looking forward to SUMMER when we can swim again in the ocean (the water is frickin freezing right now!!!)

3. We started on Season 5 of the show '24' last night - we had been putting off watching it for AGES because we KNOW how addicting that show is. Proof in point we watched 3 episodes in a row last night - and easily could have watched 3 more. Gosh that show is good - I LOVE how every single episode ends on a cliffhanger!!!

4. I was sad to hear that MCA from my favorite band of all time the Beastie Boys has cancer - I hope they get it all & he feels better soon! And please when you're feeling better - come to Australia for your new tour! Would love to see the BBoys again in concert - they rock.

5. I hear that Paula Abdul has been dumped from American Idol - no surprise there. She has been acting loopy for years now! The question is - who will the new Paula be??? I am curious!
