Happy B-day to Me

Saturday night my b-day pressie from Helen was a trip to Darling Harbour for a lovely dinner and..............

The Backstreet Boys!!!!!!

Kind of silly, but they each made a video clip based on I'm assuming their favorite movie's - one did the Matrix, one did Fight Club, etc. Weird, but interesting to watch while they changed outfits:)

I think AJ is looking quite old with his shaved head - he sounded good though

But Nik was the STAR!!! He was fantastic - his voice was spot on! Brian unfortunately was not, I think maybe he was sick? But he did not sound good when he had solo bits.

Overall - it was SO fun!!!!! I feel like such a teenager saying it - but I do still love the Backstreet Boys:) I sang along to every song I knew (which was everything but the new album) and it was FUN! Love the old classics (can you believe they have been together for 17 years??? wow)! I had trouble getting to sleep that night because Incompleeeeeeeeete kept going over & over in my head!

Alllllllllllllllllright!
(I'm going to post a bunch of videos just for you Jolie:)

Dance, dance dance!

On Sunday (the day I officially entered the low 30's..... 31 to be precise) Murray took me to Darling Harbour.

We went to lunch at Chinta Ria as I have always wanted to try eating there (and to get a picture with the buddah!).

This is the dress Murray got me for M&M day - it makes me feel like the bump is massive, but it sure is cute & comfy:) The meal was not so great, I wish we had just gone to Wagamamas instead - but oh well, next time! At least the starters were nice:)

I will post pictures of our excursion later that day to Wildlife World soon :)

Holy COW it's hot!

I just walked for 15 minutes to get some lunch and I thought holy cow it's hot. Even in the shade it's HOT!!! I got back a bit sweaty and saw the temperature gauge says 36c!! (102f!)

Whew

Anyhow, back in work's air conditioning now..... lovely:)

Last night we went to see Diesel perform at The Basement. It was a late night, but WOW is he a great performer - fantastic voice and an amazing guitarist! He played his favorite covers as well as some of his hits! Sparky kicked along to a few of the songs with a lot of bass too:)

The Basement was SUCH a cool venue too - Dad you would have loved last night - we are definitely taking you there next time you're in Sydney!

ROBBIE!! - on a tiny stage!

November 25th we queued (lined) up for hours in order to see.......

Robbie Williams!!!

This was only his second live performance in 3 years

The concert was at The Metro - a small club in downtown Sydney

And oh my GOSH it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

He really is SUCH a superstar

He was funny and chatty and his voice sounded amazing

I have never seen Robbie perform live before - and to see him such a small venue - all I can say is WOW. His live voice is VERY good!

It really was a chance in a lifetime - I'm SO glad we got tickets

Of course he finished with Angels - but asked us to sing ninjas instead, because he he has sung that song SO many times. It was hilarious - and still sounded great!

He always talks about moving here, he loves the Aussie way of life.

Thank you Robbie Williams for a fantastic night -
that was one of the best concerts I have EVER seen!!

It's Britney

Friday night I went to see Britney Spears perform her final night in Sydney with my sister-in-lawHelen

This tour is the first time she has come to Australia, but after all the bad press I think she may not ever come back! So I consider this a once off to see someone who puts on a fun big show!

She only sang one song live - Everytime - but really, since we knew that going in I was fine with it. I think it would have been better if she had sung OVER the tracks like most pop artists do (it did sound quite obvious that they were playing studio tracks....) but at the end of the day it was what we expected and it was fun!

It was a big show with lots to see and an AMAZING stage. The dancers were fab, the costumes were great, and I loved some of the remixes of her old stuff.

All in all a very fun night:)

Sunday Steve & Selina & the girls came over. It was 42c degrees (114f)!!!! It felt like walking in a hair dryer - there wasn't even a cool ocean breeze but a HOT one! It only got cool when we got RIGHT down by the water, and the water was chilly - nice & refreshing. So of course we had to go get some ice cream. Unfortunately though, Ben & Jerry's has NOT designed their store well for lots of ice cream lovers. We gave up after waiting awhile in this queue (it snaked around inside the store too). My Copenhagen strawberry ice cream was yummy anyhow!

USA + U2

Saturday night we met up with Helen & her friend Louisa at Tony Romas
The 'onion loaf' was yummy (not as good a a blooming onion though.....) but the mains were VERY average. I wouldn't go there again, fun to go just once though!

Then we went to see U2 in 3D at the Imax

Murray & Me in our giant 3D glasses

I love live music, but I'm not a fan of watching concerts on DVD. However, this ... was... amazing! The concert was FABULOUS and it was really fun to see it in 3D (especially when Bono reached out right to ME!)! We really enjoyed it - my foot was tapping throughout the entire thing and I kept feeling like I should stand up clap!

The Script

On the 26th September we went to the Enmore Theatre to see The Script

The opening act was Wes Carr - the guy who won Australian Idol last year - eh - he's ok

Then it was time for the Irish stars - The Script!!! I thought it was pretty cool that he has his keyboard at an angle up at the front of the stage - quite unusual for a lead singer!

Danny O'Donoghue - the lead singer - was AMAZING! Such a great stage presence.

A bit of acoustic as well - their whole album is amazing - and was also GREAT live!!!

GO IRELAND! Fabulous show - my first in Sydney!

Opera at the Opera House!

The costumes were amazing and the singing was fantastic - SUCH a great show! (thanks Steve & Selina!!)

A nice picture of the 4 of us after the show Murray, Me, Steve & Selina

The Harbour Bridge at night

The Opera House is gorgeous even at night! SO fun to see a show there, we haven't been since 2000!
