God Bless the Queen

for giving us a bank holiday - YAY!

According to Wikipedia: The exact date of the 'Queen's Birthday' celebration varies from country to country, and it does not usually mark the real birthday of the sovereign. The current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, was born on 21 April 1926.

We are celebrating the Queen's birthday Monday - which means no work. So Murray and I are off tomorrow to the Blue Mountains - YAY! I hope it doesn't rain!!!

I also finished 2 books this week that I would like to recommend:

1. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield: a Great book with an interesting story line about a reclusive writer's interesting past which ended with a great twist!

2. Marley & Me by John Grogan: I laughed and I cried. A fabulous book that wraps up just how much you can love a dog, and how much they are missed when they are gone. I never should have finished reading this during Gray's Anatomy and Private Practice ad breaks though - I pretty much cried for 2 hours straight! I REALLY would love to see the movie now:)

  1. So you didnt see the movie on your return flight to Australia? I cried a lot, I am sure you can imagine from reading the book.

    Miss ya!

  2. Apparently the Queen's birthday is not celebrated until June because it's too close to Anzac Day. She's shares her birthday with my brother! I'm still reading 13th Tale - can't wait to find out the twist at the end!
